Peter Salasya Survives Scary Hotel Arrest Attempt: “You Will Not Silence Me”
According to videos seen online, several plainclothes men, some masked and some armed, stormed a hotel where the lawmaker was staying.
Residents Confront ‘Officers’ with No Badges
The men, who claimed they were police officers, could not produce badges or an arrest warrant. Even worse, their vehicle had no number plates.
“You cannot arrest Salasya!”
“A gun will not silence us!”
They forced the armed men back into their vehicle and demanded to know their identity and mission.

Salasya Speaks Out: “This Was Not Law – It Was Crime”
Shortly after the dramatic standoff, Salasya took to social media and expressed his anger and fear.
“I want to categorically condemn the reckless, shameful, and cowardly attempt by unidentified individuals purporting to be police officers,” he wrote.
“Let it be clear, this was not an arrest. It was a criminal act disguised as law enforcement.”
He further warned that this wasn’t just about him as a person.
“This was an attack not just on me as an MP and 2027 presidential candidate, but on the democratic space of this nation.”
Calls for Investigation and Accountability
The MP has since demanded an immediate probe into the botched arrest.
“Law enforcement must investigate and reveal who gave the illegal order to arrest me without documentation.”
At the same time, he pledged to remain unshaken by threats.

“To those behind this, hear me loud and clear: you will not silence me. You will not threaten me into submission.”
Salasya’s Eyes on the Presidency
Now, he says he will tighten his security and continue with his campaign.
“I am going to popularise my presidential campaigns in Siaya from next month. I have a right to go anywhere.”
He concluded with a bold message:
“No amount of intimidation, harassment, or attempted abduction will stop me from fighting for a country free from tyranny and impunity.”
As tension builds, Salasya’s bravery continues to ignite conversation nationwide.
