Peter Salasya Declares 2027 Presidential Bid: “A New Dawn Is Possible”
Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has officially joined the 2027 presidential race.
With passion and bold ambition, he now stands among Kenya’s growing list of hopefuls.
Salasya Announces Candidacy After Wide Consultations
Early Monday morning, Salasya released a powerful statement to the public.
He declared, “Fellow Kenyans, after deep reflection, wide consultations, and careful consideration of the state of our nation, I, Peter Kalerwa Salasya, the Member of Parliament for Mumias East Constituency, hereby declare my intention to vie for the Presidency of the Republic of Kenya in the 2027 General Election.”
Clearly, his decision follows not just ambition but intense dialogue with the people.
He emphasized that he felt a profound call to serve.
Bold Vision for Kenya’s Future
Moreover, Salasya promised transformative leadership that will ignite Kenya’s economy.
He explained, “I have a profound desire to offer bold, transformative leadership that will reposition our great nation for industrial growth, economic empowerment, and social justice.”
Importantly, Salasya vowed to focus on creating jobs at home rather than exporting talent abroad.
He passionately believes Kenya can manufacture, innovate, and industrialize for its future.
New Political Party Coming Soon
Interestingly, Salasya also revealed plans to launch a new political party later this year.
“This movement will embody the dreams and aspirations of a new Kenya: a Kenya where opportunity is not a privilege for the few but for all of us,” he stated.

Additionally, he called upon every Kenyan to be part of the movement.
“I invite all Kenyans — especially the youth, the women, the workers, the entrepreneurs, and the dreamers — to join me on this journey toward a new dawn for our beloved country,” he declared.
He concluded, “Together, we can and we shall build a prosperous, inclusive, and united Kenya.”
Salasya Joins a Crowded 2027 Field
However, Salasya’s declaration comes amid a crowded political landscape.
Already, big names like Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, Rigathi Gachagua, and Fred Matiang’i have thrown their hats into the ring.
On Sunday night, Gachagua confirmed during a Weru TV interview that several candidates from the opposition would run individually.
Eventually, they plan to unite behind one flagbearer.
Furthermore, other notable aspirants include Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah and former Chief Justice David Maraga.
Indeed, as 2027 approaches, Kenya’s political battlefield is heating up—and Peter Salasya is determined to make his mark.
