Museveni Silences Health Rumors with Fiery Rally Speech in Adjumani
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni made a dramatic return to the public stage on Monday, October 20, ending weeks of speculation about his health. The 81-year-old leader appeared energized and confident as he addressed thousands at Paridi Stadium in Adjumani, just months before the January 2026 General Elections.
“I Thank the People of Adjumani” — Museveni’s Message of Strength
Museveni walked from his car to the podium, waving to cheering crowds. He stood tall, speaking with his trademark vigor.

“I thank the people of Adjumani for the warm welcome,” Museveni began. “As I conclude engaging our people in West Nile, I submit that there’s no question or fear of contradiction on these facts,” he added. “I thank the people of Pakwach, Nebbi, Zombo, Obongi, Madi-Okollo, Arua, Koboko, Yumbe, Moyo, Terego, Maracha, and Adjumani for the warmth and support.” “Continue supporting NRM, and we shall do even more.”
“He Looked Strong” — Museveni Dismisses Illness Speculation
Instead of attending, Museveni sent a delegation led by former Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda and Minister John Mulimba.
Despite the rumors, Museveni looked strong and alert. He answered questions from party members and stood atop a specially designed vehicle to address the crowd.
“Raila Was a Visionary” — Museveni’s Tribute to Odinga
Museveni also paid tribute to Kenya’s late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
“Raila was a distinguished statesman whose vision cut across Africa,” Museveni said in his condolence message.
His words reflected the deep regional respect for Odinga’s legacy.

“GDP Has Doubled” — Museveni Highlights Economic Growth
“GDP rose from USD 34 billion to USD 66 billion,” he posted recently on X.
He pledged to push that figure to USD 500 billion in his next term, citing investment and stability.
“I’m Ready for 2026” — Museveni Confirmed on Ballot
Museveni now faces renewed pressure from opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, who was cleared to run in September.
