Embu Women DCP Supporters Threaten to Strip if Gachagua Is Arrested
Tension is building ahead of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s return from the United States. A group of his fierce supporters in Embu County has vowed to strip naked if he is arrested at the airport.
Women Vow Fierce Resistance
On Wednesday, August 20, members of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) addressed the press in Embu. The group, led by Beth Kariuki, declared they would not allow political intimidation against their leader.
Kariuki spoke passionately, insisting Gachagua deserved respect and freedom.
“Gachagua is a Kenyan, and he should not be arrested. If he is arrested, we shall protest as women because we are the ones who know the pain of having a child. You impeached him without reason, and we kept quiet. If he gets arrested, we shall remove our clothes and protest,” she warned.
The supporters cheered her words, signaling their readiness to confront security agencies if necessary.

Love and Loyalty for Gachagua
“Gachagua, we want you in Embu. Immediately after you come to Kenya, we want you to come here first and talk to us,” the women pleaded.
They described his return as a historic moment for Embu residents and his national political base.
Political Stakes Rise
The DCP branch in Embu revealed that Gachagua is expected to tour the county to drum up support for their candidate in the Mbeere North by-election. His presence, they argued, will boost morale and strengthen grassroots mobilization.
John Arimi, who plans to vie for Embu Senator in 2027 on a DCP ticket, echoed the women’s sentiments.
“We welcome Gachagua back. We also want answers about claims that leaders were paid to impeach him,” Arimi said.
Another supporter, Jasmel Gechini, urged the government to uphold democratic freedoms.
“The state must respect the opposition and critics instead of persecuting them,” Gechini declared.
Thoithi, another outspoken supporter, added that democracy could not thrive without free speech and association.
A Return Under Threat
Gachagua is expected to land in Kenya on Thursday, August 21, after nearly two months in the US. During his trip, he rallied support for his political ambitions and criticized the government.

For now, all eyes are on the airport. Will Gachagua walk free, or will Embu women strip in protest?
