Shock and disbelief have gripped the nation after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) moved to extradite a Kenyan woman living in the United States. She is accused of plotting to murder her mother and four siblings over a disputed piece of land in Molo town.

“They Wanted Them Dead”—State Witness Reveals Sinister Plan

The case, currently before the Naivasha Law Courts, has exposed a horrifying conspiracy. According to court records, the woman allegedly conspired with her 72-year-old father to eliminate five family members.

“They wanted us to kidnap the mother, three sons, and a daughter,” said a state witness. “Then force them to transfer the land and later kill them,” he added.

The witness, now cooperating with authorities, revealed that the woman and her father met two hired killers at a hotel in Nakuru on March 1, 2024. They allegedly agreed to pay Ksh3.1 million to carry out the murders.

DPP Pushes for Extradition to Face Charges

The DPP has formally requested the court to order the extradition of the woman and her fiancé. The goal is to bring them back to Kenya to face conspiracy to murder charges.

“We must ensure justice is served, no matter where the suspects reside,” said a senior prosecutor.

The woman, who lives permanently in the US, reportedly flew into Kenya earlier this year to finalize the deadly plan.

How Extradition Works—Step by Step

To extradite her, Kenya must send a formal request to the US through diplomatic channels. The request must include details of the crime, legal justification, and evidence showing probable cause.

Once received, the US Department of State and Department of Justice review the request. A federal attorney then files the case in a district court.

“The judge doesn’t decide guilt, only if extradition is legally valid,” explained a legal expert.

If approved, the US Secretary of State makes the final decision. The woman would then be handed over to Kenyan authorities by US Marshals.

Public Outcry and Family Trauma

Kenyans have reacted with outrage and sorrow. Many expressed disbelief that a daughter could allegedly plot such a crime.

“This is heartbreaking. How can land lead to this?” asked a Molo resident. “We hope justice prevails,” another added.

As the extradition process begins, the nation watches closely. Justice must not be delayed.
