Pastor Dorcas Dismisses Accusations of Dominating Husband Rigathi Gachagua:”HOW DO YOU SIT ON A MAN WHO MAKES A NATION LOSE SLEEP?”
While addressing clergy in the United States, she fiercely responded to accusations that she dominates her husband, Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. This came after Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah insinuated that Gachagua was being controlled by his wife.
In her bold comeback, Pastor Dorcas asked a question that has since sent ripples across Kenya:
“How can you sit on a man like this, who is causing the whole nation not to sleep?”
The congregation laughed. But behind the humour was a clear message.
“A man whom the President, the Deputy President, and MPs hardly stop talking about. I keep hearing them say Wamunyoro. Is that the kind of man you think your claims could apply to? You are such liars.”
According to her, letting her speak first at public functions is not a power move. It’s a shared understanding built on love and unity.
“That is why sometimes when he allows me to speak first is not because I ‘sit on him’. It’s because we are one.”
She further stated that public opinion will never change the bond she shares with her husband.
“No noise will stop me from loving him, praying for him, and supporting his vision for this country.”
Her words come just days after MP Kimani Ichung’wah launched what many have called a personal and disgraceful attack against her.
Ichung’wah had implied that Gachagua was weak and being ruled by his wife — sparking outrage among leaders and citizens alike. Many Kenyans took to social media to condemn the remarks. Some questioned why a leader of his stature would attack a woman who has never participated in political wars.
In response, a wave of women leaders allied to Gachagua fired back.
One leader said:
“We have information that you are targeting women. As women in DCP, we are not happy. We want the DCI to use the same energy they use to pursue women to arrest Kimani Ichung’wah.”
Another strong voice, Njeri Kahiga, didn’t hold back.
“His comments were reckless and shameful. Pastor Dorcas is a symbol of strength, compassion, and empowerment.”
Kenyans continue to demand an apology from Ichung’wah. But as of now, he remains unapologetic.
Meanwhile, Pastor Dorcas has shown resilience, dismissing the noise and staying focused on her calling — family, faith, and nation.
