ODM Chair Gladys Wanga Fires Warning at Gachagua: “Leave Raila Alone!”
Homa Bay Governor and ODM Chairperson Gladys Wanga has launched a scathing attack on opposition leaders who have continued to criticize former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
While addressing mourners during the burial of Albert Ojwang in Homa Bay, Wanga didn’t mince her words. She blasted those she termed “clueless fellows” who are constantly dragging Raila’s name through the mud.
“Leave Raila alone,” Wanga declared.
“We cannot have an opposition of scavengers and clueless fellows who do not know what they are talking about. All they are talking about is Raila.”
The vocal governor directly targeted former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and a group of opposition leaders who recently unleashed verbal attacks against Odinga during a rally in Western Kenya.

“You fellows who are walking around Kenya trying to divide the nation along tribal lines and hang on the course that Gen Zs have walked faithfully on are wrong,” she added.
Wanga’s remarks come at a time when political temperatures are rising within the Azimio coalition. This follows Raila’s decision to support President Ruto’s Broad-Based Government initiative—an unexpected alliance that has stirred confusion and anger among Raila’s loyalists.
Despite the criticism, Wanga stood firm in her support for Raila’s new direction.

“That is the journey that we are on, and we are going to walk it without shame.”
ODM Chair Gladys Wanga Fires Warning at Gachagua: “Leave Raila Alone!” for selfish political gain.
“The Gen Z will not allow you to hijack that course for your selfish reasons,” she warned.
“We remain committed to our course. We will not be bullied into abandoning our leader.”
Her fiery speech appeared to be a direct response to recent jabs from Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Fred Matiang’i, and George Natembeya, who accused Raila of betrayal and labeled the Ruto-Raila cooperation as opportunistic.

Wanga’s defense of Raila signals a sharp divide among opposition ranks. As the country watches these realignments unfold, it’s clear that Raila Odinga’s influence remains deeply rooted—despite the turbulence.
