CNN Correspondent Larry Madowo Exposes New Death Threats in Explosive Emails
CNN correspondent Larry Madowo has once again found himself in the crosshairs of hate. Just hours after fact-checking President Donald Trump’s claims about white genocide in South Africa, his inbox exploded with threats and racial slurs.
“I fact-checked the ‘white genocide’ claims on CNN. Then came the racist hate mail,” Madowo revealed in a chilling post.
One disturbing email urged him to end his life, called him a propagandist, and used the n-word repeatedly. The sender even wished cancer upon him and warned that “it would be a long four years.”
“This Person Created a New Email Just to Be Racist to Me”
The award-winning journalist wasn’t silent. He posted a screenshot of the hateful message, highlighting the depth of the hatred he faces.
“This person created a new email address just to be racist to me. I admire the commitment,” he stated with biting sarcasm.
Despite the hate, Madowo’s tone remained composed—if not a bit defiant.

“Lots of big words when he could have just called me the n-word and kept it moving,” he added.
Why the Hate? Reporting Facts Over Fear
Madowo’s fact-check exposed major holes in Trump’s claims during a tense meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
“Violent crime is a real issue in South Africa,” Madowo said. “But between April and December 2024, only 0.2% of nearly 20,000 murders were farm-related.”
He added:
“Out of 36 farm murders, only seven victims were farmers. Farmers tend to be white in South Africa. Workers tend to be black.”

Pattern of Political Misinformation
This isn’t the first time Trump has clashed with foreign leaders over unverified claims. Months earlier, Ukraine’s President Zelensky faced a similar surprise confrontation.
Now, with Madowo’s in-depth reporting shedding light on facts rather than fear, the backlash reveals more about deep-seated racial divides and the growing risk journalists face.
A Stark Reminder of the Cost of Truth
This incident once again raises a crucial question: How safe are journalists who speak truth to power in today’s world?

Larry Madowo’s courage serves as both a warning and a rallying cry. Hate may shout, but truth endures.
