US Opens Applications for Kenyan Youth Exchange Program Offering 3-Month Visas
Young Kenyan leaders now have a chance of a lifetime. The United States has officially opened applications for the Community Engagement Exchange (CEE) Program for 2026. The offer? A fully sponsored three-month stay in the US, complete with a J-1 visa, paid travel, health insurance, and living stipend.
And yes—it’s free to apply.
“Are you a young Kenyan leader working to uplift your community? Apply for the CEE Program,” the US Embassy in Nairobi urged.
What Is the CEE Program?
The CEE Program, funded by the US Department of State, is no ordinary exchange. It selects emerging leaders from over 100 countries, including Kenya. The goal is to empower youth through international exposure, training, and hands-on experience.
This year-long leadership journey includes a three-month US practicum, where selected fellows work with civil society organizations. During this time, they gain practical experience and learn to solve real-world problems.
From the US to Your Community
What makes the program even more impactful? Participants return home with more than just experience—they implement a Community Engagement Project (CEP). These projects address pressing local issues using tools and knowledge gained abroad.

And there’s more. The US government provides funding support to help these projects succeed.
