Narok West MP Gabriel Ole Tongoyo and Turkana West MP Epuyo Nanok, sent by Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, were tasked with visiting Koimburi and compiling a medical report. However, their mission failed.
“We got there at 5:30pm, introduced ourselves and explained the Speaker’s assignment,” Tongoyo told Parliament.
“We waited for 30 minutes before they let us go to the third floor, Malindi ward. We kept reminding them we were still waiting.”
Even then, things got more awkward.
“At the ward, six people — who claimed to be family and office staff — met us. Two guards stood at the door. They told us we couldn’t see the honourable member,” he added.
Guards Knew of Visit But Denied Entry
Despite confirming that the hospital knew of their scheduled visit, the lawmakers were still shut out.

“The guards acknowledged the Speaker’s communication, but we were still denied access,” Tongoyo reported.
They requested to speak to Koimburi’s doctor, but he wasn’t available. A senior nurse later informed them that Koimburi was undergoing a medical procedure.
“The nurse assured us that the MP was stable and under proper care… we had no option but to leave,” Tongoyo said.
Suspicion, Side-Eyes, and Stone Walls
Things turned more uncomfortable when the MPs felt scrutinized and unwelcome.
“People at the ward eyed us suspiciously and questioned our motives, despite our parliamentary clearance,” said Tongoyo.
This encounter comes amid swirling rumours that Koimburi’s kidnapping was staged.
