“He Held a Guard Hostage” — Temple Compound Turned Into Battlefield
After the initial shootout, the suspect stormed into the Patel Samaj Temple compound. There, he reportedly held a security guard at gunpoint, robbed him of his phone and other belongings, and tied him up.
“He climbed to the top of the building and positioned himself near a water tank,” a witness said. “It was like a scene from a movie.”
A special team of officers, supported by patrol units nearby, managed to subdue and arrest the suspect. They recovered an AK-47 rifle and five rounds of ammunition.
“The weapon is suspected to have been used in multiple robbery incidents within Kisumu,” Mwanauli confirmed.
