MP Caleb Amisi Warns Ruto: “75% of Kenyans Don’t Trust You—The Clock is Ticking”
A new opinion poll has sent ripples across Kenya’s political scene. The survey, conducted by Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA), shows that a staggering 75% of Kenyans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction under President William Ruto’s leadership.
In response, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi did not hold back. During his May 28 address, he challenged the president to face reality.
“What should scare Ruto is to know that 75% of Kenyans don’t believe in his leadership,” Amisi warned.
Amisi’s Stern Warning: “One Financial Year Left”
Amisi further cautioned that time is running out.
“He has only one remaining financial year before the next election,” he stated bluntly.
With just three years into Ruto’s term, the lawmaker questioned how the president plans to win back public trust.
“How he intends to reduce this to 49.9% will be the biggest miracle ever to happen to any nation on planet Earth — including the Vatican City,” Amisi declared.
He called for urgent political and economic reforms.
“Kenya needs a renaissance!” he exclaimed.
Numbers Speak Louder Than Promises
The TIFA poll, conducted between May 2 and May 6, surveyed 2,024 people from regions across Kenya.
The findings paint a bleak picture:
- 86% of those who said the country is on the wrong path blamed economic decline.
- Only 4% of that group reported any economic improvement.
- In contrast, 36% of those who felt Kenya is on the right path said their finances had improved.
Clearly, economic reality is shaping public opinion.
Gap Widens Between the Hopeful and the Hurting
The poll further revealed:
“Almost three times as many people who believe Kenya is on the wrong track report economic hardship (86%) compared to only 30% of those who think it’s on the right track,” the report stated.
Likewise, only one in nine Kenyans who think the country is failing report any economic gains.
These numbers highlight a massive disconnect between the administration’s messaging and citizens’ lived experiences.

A Wake-Up Call to State House
As 2027 draws nearer, the data signals deep public dissatisfaction. With Amisi’s fiery remarks, pressure is mounting on President Ruto to act — and fast

“Mr. President, the people are watching. Your time to change the tide is now,” Amisi concluded.
