Man Charged With Assaulting Female Comedian during Kutit Cultural Festival
Drama turned to horror at the Kutit Cultural Festival on August 9. Popular comedian and digital creator Bella Comedy, born Carren Chepchumba, was brutally assaulted during the celebrations at Carnivore Grounds.
The assault video spread rapidly on social media, triggering outrage across the country. Many called for the suspect’s immediate arrest before his court appearance.
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi strongly condemned the attack.
“The assault on Bella Comedy… is concerning. Violence against women is unacceptable… Surrender yourself to the nearest police station,” Sudi said in his statement.
His message resonated with many, who echoed the need to protect women in public spaces.
The Kutit Cultural Festival was meant to celebrate art, tradition, and community. For Bella, it was also an opportunity to meet fellow creatives and connect with fans.
The incident has sparked wider conversations about harassment and violence against women in public events. Many now question whether enough is being done to keep entertainers and content creators safe.
