KPLC: Areas scheduled for power cuts Thursday
Residents in Nairobi, Narok, Isiolo, and Kwale counties will experience power outages on Thursday. Kenya Power has confirmed that the scheduled interruptions are necessary for system maintenance. The affected areas will see outages between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., depending on the location.
Nairobi County: Major Estates to Experience Power Cuts
Power supply in parts of Nairobi will be disrupted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The affected areas include:
- Sunton, Linet Academy, Clay City Police, Part of Garage, and Part of Majimazuri
- Aberdare, Mukinduri, and surrounding areas
- Parts of Naivasha Road, Melchizedek Hospital, Corner Heights, and Makena 47 Apartments
- Riara Road, Riara Close, Kingara Road, Kingara Close, and Mbaazi Close
- EBRU TV Station, Part of James Gichuru Road, Rubis Petrol Station, and Whole of Hatheru Road
- Braeburn School, Rusinga School, Kawangware Primary, Muslim Road, and Kinyanjui Technical
Narok County: Power Outages from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Businesses and homes in the following areas will experience interruptions:
- Narok Town, Majengo, Fanaka, London, and Adams East
- Adjacent customers within these locations
Isiolo County: Merti Town and Schools Affected
From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., power interruptions will affect the following locations:
- Merti Town, Merti Primary, Macci Boys, Bulesa Dispensary, and Bisan Biliqo Primary
Kwale County: Extensive Outages in the Coastal Region

Parts of Kwale and the Coast region will be without electricity from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some of the affected areas include:
- PVC Africa, Salima Gases, Mwele, Kombeni, Mwawesa, and Rabal Mining
- Chonyl Primary, Changombe, Chiveri Primary, and Mkapuni
- Carrefour, Swahili Beach, Kaskazi Beach, Diani Shopping Centre, and Chandarana

Kenya Power emphasized that these interruptions are crucial for maintaining and upgrading the power infrastructure. The company urged affected residents and businesses to plan accordingly.
