Hope for Hustlers: Youth to Receive KSh50,000 from NYOTA Programme This Month – Kindiki Confirms
He revealed this during a stakeholder meeting in Kisii County on Thursday afternoon, sparking hope for thousands of jobless youth across the country.
“We have a very big programme for the youth, both male and female; it is called NYOTA,” Kindiki stated.
“We are giving money in all the wards across the country to support 70 businesses in each ward.”
Billions Already Disbursed
To show commitment, the government has already released KSh28 billion. These funds will be channeled towards 70 youth per ward, translating into a nationwide reach.
“The government has released KSh28 billion,” Kindiki emphasized.
“Starting this month, 70 businesses in each ward will be funded. Each youth will receive KSh50,000.”
“This money is strictly for registered youth-owned businesses,” he clarified.
“Let no one be left out. Take advantage of this rare chance.”
NYOTA: A Lifeline for Youth
The NYOTA Programme (National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement) is a five-year government plan funded by the World Bank. It aims to reduce youth unemployment, income insecurity, and low savings.
Notably, this initiative is an extension of the Kenya Youth Employment Opportunities Project (KYEOP). It now targets over 110,000 young people nationwide.

The programme is being implemented through the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA).
Support for All Kenyans
Kindiki also assured Kenyans that support won’t end with the youth.
“Let us help our youth to secure employment,” he urged.
“For those who are not youth, like mama mboga and other business people, we have many interventions to support all businesses.”
Application Window Closed
Kindiki’s announcement follows the closure of the NYOTA application window on May 15. With the shortlisting phase now underway, successful applicants will soon start receiving funds.

A New Chapter Begins
With money ready and disbursements set to start, the NYOTA programme marks a turning point for Kenya’s entrepreneurial youth. The country watches eagerly as the beneficiaries prepare to turn ideas into income.
