“Bring Him Dead or Alive!”—High Court Summons IG Kanja, DPP Ingonga Over Mwenda Mbijiwe’s Mysterious Disappearance

Four years after security analyst Mwenda Mbijiwe vanished without a trace, the High Court has finally taken decisive action. On Tuesday, October 14, Judge Martin Muya ordered Inspector General Douglas Kanja and Director of Public Prosecutions Renson Ingonga to appear in court physically on October 15.

“Where Is Mwenda?”—Court Demands Answers

Judge Muya didn’t mince words. He demanded that the two top officials explain Mwenda’s whereabouts and why they failed to produce him in court despite a previous order.

“The IG and DPP must present themselves and account for Mwenda’s disappearance,” the judge ruled.

Mwenda, a former Kenya Air Force pilot, disappeared on June 12, 2021, while traveling to Meru. His car was later found abandoned near Tatu City in Kiambu County.

“He Was Last Seen in Roysambu”—Suspected DCI Involvement

Reports suggest Mwenda was last seen in Roysambu with unknown individuals in an unmarked vehicle, believed to belong to DCI officers.

“He was allegedly kidnapped by unknown people in Roysambu,” the petition stated. “We suspect foul play involving law enforcement,” Lawyer Evans Ondieki added.

Mwenda was facing fraud charges at the time, accused of conning Ksh150,000 from a man he promised a UN job.

“We Searched Everywhere”—Family’s Pain Runs Deep

Mwenda’s mother, Jane Gatwiri M’ithinji, has endured years of agony. She and her family searched every hospital, police station, prison, and mortuary—without success.

“Ms M’ithinji has gone through psychological and emotional torture,” the petition noted. “She deserves closure. She deserves truth,” Ondieki emphasized.

The family believes Mwenda’s arrest and detention were unlawful and violated his constitutional rights.

“He Reported Death Threats”—Ignored Warnings Raise Alarms

Before vanishing, Mwenda had reported receiving death threats at Central Police Station. However, no action was taken.

“He feared for his life. He asked for help,” Ondieki said. “Now he’s gone, and no one is accountable,” he added.

The petitioners now demand that the Attorney General, IG, and DCI produce Mwenda—dead or alive.

“We want answers. We want justice,” M’ithinji pleaded.

As the court prepares for the October 15 hearing, the nation watches closely, hoping for long-overdue truth.
