Gachagua Warns Mt Kenya Residents Against Ruto’s Alleged Political Treachery

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has once again rattled the political scene with fiery remarks against President William Ruto.

Speaking in Kanyuambora, Mbeere, Embu County, Gachagua warned Mt Kenya residents to remain alert, accusing the Head of State of betrayal and political deceit.

Gachagua Calls Out Ruto’s Money Politics

Gachagua claimed Ruto was using money handouts to repair his broken relationship with citizens. He urged locals to accept the money but reject the President at the ballot.

“As the leader of Mt Kenya, the President will bring a lot of money here. We cannot bury an elephant with its tusks. Take the money but do not give him our votes,” Gachagua declared.

His remarks drew loud cheers from the crowd, signaling growing discontent with Ruto’s administration in the region.

Fired Ally Sparks Anger

The outspoken DCP leader also blasted Ruto for dismissing former Attorney General Justin Muturi from Cabinet. He said Mt Kenya must respond firmly to the insult.

“You cannot fire our own and expect us to clap. The community must teach him a lesson,” Gachagua said.

He pledged to work with opposition leaders and ordinary Kenyans to ensure Ruto serves only one term.

Gachagua Vows to Resist Kenya Kwanza

The former Deputy President accused the government of ignoring citizens’ suffering. He called on residents to resist not just the President but also local UDA legislators who back him.

“We must stand against this administration and its allies. They no longer serve the people,” Gachagua urged.

Violence at Gachagua’s Arrival

His return to the country on August 21 was marred by chaos. Supporters and journalists were attacked by rowdy youth along Mombasa Road.

Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thangwa accused the government of sponsoring the clashes.

“Now we know it is you, William Ruto, who caused the violence. Why is Gachagua always the target? That shows he is the real leader,” Karungo alleged

The violent reception, however, did little to dim the opposition leader’s resolve. Instead, it energized his allies, who vowed to confront Ruto’s government head-on.

The Road to 2027

As tensions rise, Mt Kenya politics appears headed for another fierce battle. Gachagua’s rallying call sets the stage for a showdown with Ruto ahead of the 2027 general election.
