Tanzania Govt Dismisses Claims Kenyans Purchased All Tanzania vs Morocco CHAN Game Tickets

Tension rose on Thursday after rumours spread that Kenyan fans had bought all tickets for the Tanzania versus Morocco CHAN clash. However, Tanzania’s government swiftly dismissed the claims, terming them baseless and aimed at instilling fear.

Gov’t Sets the Record Straight

Speaking in Dar es Salaam, government spokesperson Gerson Musigwa strongly refuted the allegations.

“Those are our neighbours, I hope you know who I am talking about. They are not even involved in our match tomorrow, but they are yapping,” Musigwa said.

He stressed that Kenyans were only trying to unsettle Tanzanian fans ahead of the crucial game at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Musigwa Assures Fans: No Kenyan Has Taken Your Stadium Seat

“I want to assure all the Tanzanians, the claims going around that they have purchased all the tickets for our match at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium are untrue,” he declared.

Fans Urged to Show Up

Musigwa assured the public that the government had prepared adequately for the match. He encouraged fans to come out in numbers without fear.

“Come to the stadium gates, and you will enter. The government has taken necessary measures, there is adequate space and do not fear. They are yapping because they fear us,” he added.

His statement drew loud applause from Taifa Stars supporters who said they would pack the stadium to push their team to victory.

High Stakes at Mkapa

Tanzania will face Morocco tonight at 8 pm in what promises to be a fierce battle. The Taifa Stars are under pressure, facing a Moroccan side that finished second behind Kenya in Group A.

The stakes are high, with fans seeing this as more than just a football match. Many view it as a test of national pride.

Kenya Watches From Afar

While Tanzania prepares for Morocco, Kenya will meet Madagascar on Friday at Kasarani. The Harambee Stars enter the game buoyed by CAF’s decision to increase stadium capacity to 38,400.

The Football Kenya Federation successfully appealed against a 60 per cent fan cap imposed earlier. Nairobi has also expanded fan zones to 13, ensuring more supporters enjoy the matches under strict security.

Regional Rivalry Intensifies

The rivalry between Kenya and Tanzania has now extended beyond the pitch. Although Kenya is not part of Tanzania’s clash, the rumours stirred emotions on both sides.

For Tanzanians, Musigwa’s message was clear: their neighbours might try to distract them, but the Taifa Stars must stay focused.

As the stadium lights turn on tonight, the nation waits with hope and determination. The chants of Tanzanian fans are expected to drown out every doubt.
