Senator John Methu Asks Ruto to Resign after Muturi’s Explosive Dossier on Abduction: “Immediately”
Kenyan politics has taken a dramatic turn after Nyandarua Senator John Methu and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka made bold allegations against President William Ruto. They accused him of leading an administration complicit in abductions, sparking nationwide debate.
Senator Methu: “Ruto Must Resign Immediately”
Speaking on Friday, January 17, Senator John Methu delivered a scathing attack on Ruto’s leadership. He cited an alarming rise in abductions and accused the president of breaching the Constitution.
“President Ruto has lost moral authority and character. He has shaken our Christian foundations, failed the leadership test, and continuously breached the Constitution. He must resign immediately,” Methu declared.
The senator referenced a dossier from Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi, alleging the involvement of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) in abductions. He questioned Ruto’s ability to assure Kenyans of their safety.
CS Muturi revealed the president ordered NIS Director Noordin Haji to release his son after an abduction. This shows Ruto oversees a secret force operating outside the Constitution,” Methu added.
Kalonzo’s Explosive Accusations
Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka echoed Methu’s sentiments, alleging that an unconstitutional abduction squad operates under Ruto’s regime.

“The Kenya Kwanza regime has formed unconstitutional squads responsible for abductions. The Ruaraka-based team has caused untold suffering to Kenyans,” Kalonzo said.
Kalonzo also referenced Muturi’s affidavit, which detailed how Ruto called NIS Director Haji to secure the release of Leslie Muturi, Muturi’s abducted son. He further accused the president of direct involvement in these operations, calling his actions “unforgivable and unacceptable.”
Nationwide Reactions and Rising Tensions
These explosive claims have fueled public outcry, with many Kenyans demanding accountability. Social media platforms buzzed with heated discussions. Supporters of Methu and Kalonzo praised their courage, while Ruto’s allies dismissed the accusations as political theatrics.
Ruto’s administration has not formally responded to the allegations, leaving the nation in suspense. The gravity of the claims and their potential impact on Ruto’s presidency cannot be overstated.
What Lies Ahead?
The escalating tension underscores a deepening political crisis. As opposition leaders amplify their calls for Ruto’s resignation, Kenyans are left grappling with uncertainty. The next steps will likely define the country’s democratic trajectory.
