Rigathi Gachagua Threatens Lawsuit Over Ksh25M Apartment Claims: “I’m a Stranger to This Transaction”

“I’ve Never Set Foot There”—Gachagua Denies All Allegations
Through his lawyers, Gachagua fired back with a strongly worded demand letter. He denied any involvement with the property or the company.

“I’ve never engaged with your company,” the letter stated. “I’ve never set foot on the premises. I’m a total stranger to this transaction,” it added.
His legal team accused the firm of fabricating claims to damage his reputation.
“Retract or Face Court”—Gachagua Issues 24-Hour Ultimatum
The lawyers demanded a written retraction and a public apology in two national newspapers. They gave the company 24 hours to comply.
“Failure to do so will result in a defamation lawsuit without further reference,” the letter warned.
They cited the Defamation Act and Article 33(3) of the Constitution, which limits free speech that harms others.
“We’ll Evict and Auction”—Company Threatens Harsh Measures
Earlier, the firm had demanded immediate eviction of Gachagua and the female associate. They also sought payment based on market rates.

“We will invoke all lawful means to protect our client’s interests,” the company’s lawyers warned. “This includes auctioning items placed in the apartment,” they added.
The accusations quickly spread across social media, triggering public outrage and speculation.
“This Is Reckless”—Gachagua’s Lawyers Slam Viral Allegations
Gachagua’s legal team condemned the company’s actions as reckless and malicious. They said the claims had severely damaged his personal and political image.
“You made these statements knowing they were factually wrong and unsubstantiated,” the letter stated. “You acted with total disregard for the truth,” it added.
They argued the company’s conduct amounted to defamation under Kenyan law.
“More Trouble Ahead?”—Controversies Continue to Shadow Gachagua
This case adds to growing scrutiny around Gachagua. Recently, he faced accusations of secretly working with President William Ruto, causing tension within the United Opposition.

As the 2027 election race intensifies, Gachagua’s legal battles could reshape his political future.
