The Ministry of Public Service plans an exciting public auction on December 11, 2024. Kenyans can bid on unserviceable vehicles and obsolete items.
Key Auction Details
The event starts at 10:00 a.m. at the Ministry of Public Works Mechanical Department in Nairobi’s Industrial Area. M/S Flomer Auctioneers will manage the auction.
“The Ministry, alongside M/S Flomer Auctioneers, will auction unserviceable vehicles and obsolete items,” the announcement read.
How to Access Auction Information
Interested bidders can find auction catalogues online at mps.go.ke or tenders.go.ke at no charge. Additionally, physical copies are available at the supply chain management office on the second floor of Telposta Towers during working hours.
Arriving early is advisable to review items and prepare for bidding.

KEBS Enforces Stricter Vehicle Import Rules
Meanwhile, the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) has introduced tighter import rules for vehicles, effective January 1, 2025. Only Right-Hand Drive (RHD) vehicles registered after January 1, 2018, will qualify.
Vehicles registered in 2017 or earlier must arrive in Kenya by December 31, 2024, to meet compliance. KEBS warned that non-compliant vehicles will be sent back at the importer’s expense.
What This Means for Buyers
The auction offers a chance to own vehicles and items at affordable prices. The new KEBS rules aim to modernize Kenya’s vehicle imports, ensuring better quality for consumers.
