Oscar Sudi Threatens to Sue Morara Kebaso over Remarks on His Photo with Casual McOure
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has stirred public debate by threatening legal action against activist Morara Kebaso. The dispute arose from remarks Kebaso made about a viral photo showing Sudi with political figure Kasmuel McOure.
What Did Morara Say?
On Sunday, December 22, Morara shared a photo on his X account, formerly Twitter. In the image, McOure stood next to MP Sudi. Morara criticized McOure, accusing him of associating with leaders he deemed controversial.
“Oh my God, Kasmuel, why? Is it money? You should have started any business, and we would support you. You’ve hurt Kenyans who believed in you in ways you can’t imagine,” Morara wrote.

He also linked McOure’s interactions with Sudi to allegations of involvement in tragedies. Specifically, he suggested the Kenya Kwanza leaders had roles in the deaths of young protesters during the anti-Finance Bill 2024 demonstrations.
Sudi Strikes Back with Legal Threats
In response, Sudi turned to his legal team. They issued a demand letter accusing Morara of defamation. Sudi’s lawyers argued that the statements damaged their client’s reputation and painted him as a criminal.
“By juxtaposing Hon. Sudi’s image with ‘killed Gen Z in cold blood,’ you portrayed him as a murderer, profiteer, and dishonest leader,” the letter read.
The lawyers called Morara’s actions reckless, highlighting his large online audience of over 284,000 followers. They claimed the post caused substantial harm to Sudi’s public image.
What Does Sudi Demand?
Sudi demanded an unconditional apology from Morara within three days. Additionally, he asked Morara to admit liability and avoid publishing defamatory content about him.
The lawyers warned of legal proceedings if Morara failed to comply. “Take notice that unless we hear from you within three days, we have instructions to institute relevant legal proceedings without further reference,” they stated.
Criticism and Public Reaction
While Sudi defends his name, critics question his approach. Some argue he overreacted to Morara’s remarks, which may only amplify public scrutiny. Others view the situation as a distraction from more pressing national issues.
Meanwhile, the online debate has intensified, with Kenyans sharply divided. Some back Sudi, accusing Morara of crossing the line. Others defend Morara, applauding him for challenging perceived political excesses.
Conclusion
As the clock ticks on Sudi’s ultimatum, all eyes remain on Morara. Will he apologize, or will this spat escalate to court? One thing is certain: the drama has captivated the nation.
