Okiya Omtatah Denies Involvement in Cartoonist Kibet Bull’s Mysterious Disappearance

Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah firmly rejected claims linking him to the abduction of cartoonist Kibet Bull. He described the accusations as baseless distractions.

Omtatah Responds to Allegations

Omtatah confirmed meeting Bull but insisted the encounter was in good faith, like his other interactions with Kenyans.

“These allegations are false, baseless, and imaginative. I’ve suddenly been cast as the villain in someone’s fiction,” he stated.

“I met Kibet Bull in good faith, as I do with many Kenyans. If harmed, we must find the real perpetrators, not indulge in conspiracy theories,” Omtatah added.

Okiya Omtatah Denies Social Media Accusations

Political activist Francis Gaitho intensified the controversy through posts on X, formerly Twitter. Gaitho alleged that Omtatah betrayed critics of the Kenya Kwanza government.

“Kibet Bull was abducted right after meeting Okiya Omtatah. He even posted about it on WhatsApp. He’s now feared dead,” Gaitho claimed.

The accusation sparked outrage, forcing Omtatah to defend his integrity.

A Strong Rebuttal from Omtatah

In response, Omtatah reaffirmed his lifelong dedication to justice and human rights. He called the allegations absurd and insulting.

“These allegations are false, baseless, and frankly, quite imaginative. It seems I’ve suddenly been cast as the villain in someone’s fiction.I met @Kibet_bull in good faith, as I do with many Kenyans in my daily encounters. If he has been harmed, we must focus on finding the real perpetrators and holding them accountable, not distracting ourselves with conspiracy theories,” Omtatah stated.

Warning Against Misinformation

Omtatah urged Kenyans to avoid spreading false information, which he said distracts from addressing urgent national concerns.

“For clarity: I have spent my life standing up for justice, the rule of law, and the protection of human rights. To suggest that I would ‘sell-out’ young activists is absurd and deeply insulting,Let’s refrain from peddling falsehoods that only serve to distract us from the urgent task of protecting Kenyans from oppression,” he said.

Spotlight on Kibet Bull

Kibet Bull, known for his politically charged artwork, disappeared after expressing fears of arrest. His cartoons often critique the Kenya Kwanza regime, gaining him admiration and controversy.

Bull’s family revealed he had raised concerns over his safety due to his growing popularity. His disappearance has sparked public outcry, with many demanding justice.
