Morara Kebaso Backs Gachagua, Blames State for Poisonous Alcohol in Mount Kenya
Nairobi – Inject Party leader Morara Kebaso strongly supported Rigathi Gachagua’s claims about poisonous alcohol in Mount Kenya. Kebaso accused state operatives of enabling the crisis, intensifying public outrage. His remarks called for urgent action and accountability.
“State Officials Allow Illicit Alcohol Trade”
Kebaso highlighted Gachagua’s concerns, agreeing with his observations. “I don’t agree with Gachagua on many things, but he’s right here,” Kebaso declared in a fiery X post. He alleged deliberate efforts by powerful individuals to promote the manufacture and sale of dangerous brews in the region.
Personal Experiences Reveal Crisis Depth
Kebaso recounted his encounters with the issue in Mount Kenya, emphasizing its persistence. “I saw this in Kiambu County during my university days.

Recently, I’ve also seen it in Ndeiya,” he shared. His insights painted a grim picture of the ongoing problem.
“I don’t agree with Gachagua on many things, but what he is saying here is very true. There has been a deliberate effort by state cabals to allow and encourage the manufacture, distribution, and sale of poisonous alcohol in the Mount Kenya region,”
Blame on Ministry of Interior
Kebaso accused the Ministry of Interior of turning a blind eye to the issue. He claimed everyone in Vigilance House, from officials to support staff, knows about the illicit trade. “This is a fact, and we all know it. Just fix it—don’t defend it,” he urged Interior PS Raymond Omollo.
PS Omollo Rejects Claims
In contrast, Omollo dismissed Gachagua’s accusations as “ludicrous and mischievous.” He insisted Gachagua provide formal complaints and evidence to support his claims. Omollo warned against spreading unverified allegations without actionable proof.
Kebaso’s Call for Urgency
Kebaso’s bold statements reignited public demands for transparency and immediate reforms. He urged the government to act decisively to end the crisis. Citizens echoed his call, insisting on swift measures to protect communities.
The Road Ahead
The ongoing alcohol crisis highlights the need for accountability and stronger government policies. Kebaso’s remarks added pressure on the state to prioritize citizens’ safety. The debate continues as Mount Kenya residents await solutions.
