I Will Run for President,” Babu Owino Announces Bold Plans for 2027
Nairobi – Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has ignited debate with his bold remarks about the 2027 General Election. Speaking during a bursary cheque issuance ceremony at Harvest Church Grounds on December 19, Babu hinted at running for president. Known for his fiery speeches and youth-focused campaigns, the legislator captivated the crowd with his defiant tone.
“I Will Make My Own Decisions”Says Babu Owino
Babu rejected calls to support President William Ruto’s government. Instead, he emphasized making independent choices for his constituents. “Now that is what I am now being told; to support Zakayo. Should I support Zakayo so that I continue oppressing you? Just let me make my own decisions,” he declared. The crowd cheered, affirming his stance against conforming to external pressures.
“Now that is what I am now being told; to support Zakayo. Should I support Zakayo so that I continue oppressing you? Just let me make my own decisions. I know my mother didn’t give birth to a fool. I will make the right decision for my people. Isn’t that okay? Let’s prepare ourselves and see how life will move forward so I can continue working for you,” Babu told a cheerful crowd.
Although he stopped short of a formal announcement, Babu expressed confidence in his potential run for the presidency. He added humor by hinting at a possible running mate. When the crowd suggested Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, he responded, “I was planning to go for the presidency, so I talked to my running mate. He is still deciding.”
Babu criticized the current leadership while rallying his supporters for change. “I have now realized these people can’t overpower me,” he said with conviction. He also urged his constituents to prepare for the upcoming political battle. “Let’s get organized, evaluate our options, and move forward together,” he added.
As 2027 approaches, Babu Owino’s potential presidential run appears increasingly likely. His message was clear: unity, preparation, and resilience will drive his campaign.
