Oscar Sudi Slams Gachagua, Says They Don’t Need His Permission to Tour Mt. Kenya: “Hatuombi”
Political heat is already rising ahead of President William Ruto’s highly anticipated tour of Mount Kenya next week. This visit will be Ruto’s first since the dramatic impeachment of his former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua. While some leaders strongly oppose the tour, Ruto’s allies insist it is part of the government’s broader development strategy.
Sudi: “We Don’t Need Permission to Visit Mount Kenya”
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has taken a firm stand against those resisting Ruto’s visit, insisting that the president has full authority to tour any part of the country.
“We are coming to Mount Kenya on a working tour, and we do not need anyone’s permission. We must work for the people because they are the ones who helped deliver this government,” Sudi declared.
Speaking at Wareng High School in Eldoret during a bursary disbursement event, Sudi reminded Kenyans that the Kenya Kwanza leadership has traversed the entire nation. Mount Kenya, he emphasized, is no exception.

Justifying Gachagua’s Impeachment
Sudi justified Gachagua’s ouster, accusing him of fostering tribal divisions and endangering national unity.
“We impeached Gachagua because he promoted tribalism, and we cannot allow a leader in such a high position to divide the country,” Sudi said firmly.
“If you hear someone identifying themselves as Kisii, Kalenjin, Kamba, or any other tribe instead of Kenyan, they should be ashamed. Tribal divisions bring no good to this nation,” he added.
A Call for Unity and Inclusivity
Sudi assured Kenyans across different regions that they should feel safe and at home wherever they reside.
“Whether you live in Uasin Gishu, Turkana, Mombasa, Gatundu, or any other part of the country, you are a Kenyan, and we should coexist peacefully,” he stated.
The Kapseret legislator also criticized Gachagua’s bid to position himself as Mount Kenya’s political kingpin. He argued that the region is diverse and inclusive, a factor that significantly contributed to Ruto’s 2022 electoral victory.
Challenge to Gachagua: “Prepare for 2027”
Sudi threw down the gauntlet to Gachagua and his allies, challenging them to prepare for a political battle in the 2027 General Election.
“If he believes he is the region’s political kingpin, let him prepare well and face us in 2027,” he stated.
