“Baba Is Okay”—Oburu Odinga Confirms Raila Was Sick, Reveals He’s in India for Treatment
Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga has finally broken the silence surrounding Raila Odinga’s health and whereabouts. Speaking to the press on Thursday, October 9, Oburu confirmed that the ODM party leader had been unwell but is now recovering.
“He Was Slightly Indisposed”—Oburu Dispels Grave Illness Rumours
Oburu addressed growing speculation about Raila’s condition, which had sparked panic among supporters and critics alike.
“There have been a lot of rumours about our party leader,” Oburu said. “That he is very sick, almost dying, and completely out,” he added.
He clarified that Raila only suffered a mild illness and is now recuperating.

“He is out and about, just like any other human being who was indisposed a little,” Oburu explained. “He is now resting and recovering,” he assured.
“He Is in India”—Oburu Reveals Raila’s Location
Oburu went further to disclose Raila’s exact location, dismissing claims that he was in the US or Dubai.
“He is in India. People should not say they do not know where he is,” Oburu stated. “He is not in the US or Dubai as alleged,” he emphasized.
He assured Kenyans that Raila would return soon to resume his political duties.
“Very soon you will see him back,” Oburu promised.

“People have been disturbed by rumours claiming Raila is sick,” Ida said. “If his condition were serious, I would have taken him to a hospital here in Migori,” she added.

“How can someone who does not live with him claim to know his health status?” Ida asked. “Baba is okay,” she affirmed.
