“I Am Happy”—Raila Odinga Breaks Silence Amid Health Rumours, Sends Message to Kenyans
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has finally spoken out, putting to rest swirling rumours about his health. In a phone call with ODM Communications Director Philip Etale on Tuesday afternoon, Raila assured Kenyans that he is well, happy, and looking forward to returning home soon.
“I Just Spoke to Raila”—Etale Shares Update
Philip Etale revealed that he had spoken to Raila just minutes before addressing the media.
“I have just spoken with Raila Odinga, just under five minutes ago. He is jovial and happy,” Etale said.
Raila, according to Etale, was amused by the online speculation and offered a calm response.

“I am seeing people spreading so much propaganda online. Let’s keep praying for them,” Raila told Etale.
“He Sends His Greetings”—Raila’s Message to Kenyans
Etale confirmed that Raila is still abroad but will return to Kenya in the coming days.
“He has sent me to convey his greetings to all of you,” Etale shared. “He says he will be back in a few days,” he added.
This message comes as a relief to many Kenyans who had grown concerned over Raila’s prolonged absence.
“He Is Not Indisposed”—ODM Dismisses Health Claims
Just a day earlier, ODM leaders issued a statement dismissing claims of Raila’s deteriorating health. They clarified that his trip was personal and not related to medical treatment.

“Honourable Raila travelled out of the country on Friday evening,” the statement read. “It was one of many trips he has made this year,” it added.
ODM also addressed false reports about Raila’s destination.
“He definitely did not travel to Europe as reported by bloggers,” the party stated. “He is not indisposed as prayed for by his frustrated opponents,” they emphasized.
“Rumours Began After Event Cancellation”—Timeline of Speculation
Concerns over Raila’s health intensified after ODM postponed its 20th Anniversary celebrations, which were scheduled for October 3 in Mombasa. His absence from the public eye fueled speculation, especially on social media.
“People started asking questions when the event was shelved,” said a party insider. “But there was no cause for alarm,” he added.
As Raila prepares to return, his message has calmed nerves and reaffirmed his connection to the people.
