Kindiki Declares Political War on Gachagua: “We’ll Finish Them Early!”
Embu—Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has thrown down the gauntlet, challenging Rigathi Gachagua to a political duel in 2027. Speaking at the Full Gospel Church in Kamumu, Mbeere North, Kindiki did not mince words. He confidently declared that anyone daring to compete with him would face swift defeat.
Kindiki’s Fiery Warning
With a mix of humor and defiance, Kindiki warned his political rivals to tread carefully. “Ule anataka kushindana na sisi angojee hapo mbele, ataona kilichomtoa kanga manyoa. Nitawamalizia asubuhi na mapema,” he said. This roughly translates to, “Whoever wants to challenge us should wait and see what uproots a guinea fowl’s feathers. We’ll finish them early.”
He insisted his priority remains delivering services to Kenyans, not political squabbles. “For now, we are focused on work,” he added, subtly mocking those already plotting for 2027.
Uniting Mt Kenya: Kindiki’s Appeal
Kindiki urged Mt Kenya residents to resist divisive politics. He discouraged attempts to split the region into East and West factions.
“This region cannot afford to fragment over selfish interests,” he warned. He also denounced the culture of leaders hiring goons to cause disruptions.
Transitioning smoothly, Kindiki emphasized, “If you disagree with a leader, address it lawfully. Let’s avoid chaos and remain united.” He criticized heckling during public meetings, calling it a sign of poor leadership and lack of discipline.
Gachagua Fires Back: A Call for Accountability
Rigathi Gachagua, not one to shy away, responded with his own sharp critique. He accused past Mt Kenya leaders of betraying their people for personal gain.
“We trusted some leaders, but they sold us out,” Gachagua said. He promised that the region would scrutinize future leaders more rigorously.

“No more empty promises. Leaders must prove their patriotism and commitment to the community before seeking our votes,” he declared.
Drama Brewing for 2027
The brewing rivalry between Kindiki and Gachagua hints at an explosive showdown. Both leaders seem eager to outdo each other, but their priorities appear skewed.
Amid the drama, one thing is clear—Mt Kenya politics is shifting. However, voters may wonder if their leaders are more focused on personal battles than solving pressing issues.
As Kenyans watch this political soap opera, the question remains: will service delivery triumph over political theatrics?
