Dennis Itumbi Rubbishes Ruto-Kindiki Rumors: “Ruto and Kindiki Are Focused on Delivery”
Nairobi – Dennis Itumbi, Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects, has forcefully dismissed rumors of a rift between President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki. The speculation arose after Kindiki skipped the New Year’s dinner hosted by Ruto at Kisii State Lodge.
Taking to social media, Itumbi labeled the allegations as baseless and accused critics of spreading poorly crafted lie
Itumbi’s Fiery Response
In a biting statement, Itumbi wrote:
“Ati DP Kindiki Kithure was slapped by Farouk. Uwongo. Ati, there is a fallout; please craft uwongo that lasts. The president and his deputy are busy implementing the plan. This year, the projects and programmes will speak. 2025, we will point out your lies in real time.”
His post left no room for ambiguity. He emphasized that Ruto and Kindiki remain focused on delivering their administration’s promises. According to Itumbi, any attempt to create a wedge between the two leaders is doomed to fail.
Speculation Surrounding Kindiki
Despite Itumbi’s strong rebuttal, Kindiki’s absence from several key events has fueled speculation. Notably, his last public appearance was on December 17, 2024, at the Baringo Cultural Festival and Kimalel Goat Auction. There, Kindiki pledged unwavering support for Ruto’s leadership.
Since then, however, he has remained largely out of the public eye. His one-line New Year message—“Happy, blessed, and joyous 2025. God bless your families, and God bless Kenya”—fueled whispers about a possible fallout.

The absence reached a fever pitch when Kindiki skipped the Kisii State Lodge dinner. The event, attended by top government officials, featured Ruto highlighting his administration’s successes and celebrating Kenya’s achievements.
Kindiki Speaks Out
Amid growing chatter, Kindiki defended his leadership style and his role as deputy president. He rejected claims of being a “yes man” and reiterated his constitutional duty as Ruto’s principal assistant.
“My job is to provide private counsel to the president, not to challenge his policies publicly,” Kindiki clarified.
In response to critics, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Kindiki emphasized his allegiance to Kenya and its constitution. He stressed that trust underpins his relationship with Ruto.
Moving Forward
While rumors persist, both Ruto’s administration and Kindiki seem determined to push ahead. As Itumbi stated, their projects and programs will serve as the ultimate proof of their unity and dedication. Whether the public buys into this narrative or not remains to be seen.
