Joyce Omondi Bids Farewell to Rauka After Four-Year Second Stint on Citizen TV
In a heartfelt message shared on her social media platforms on Saturday, April 18, Omondi confirmed that her final appearance on the show would air on Sunday, April 19, inviting viewers to join her for one last broadcast.
“Tomorrow morning, I host my last show on Rauka. What an honor it has been. See you then for one last sign off,” she stated, signalling the end of a significant chapter in her media career.

Omondi first hosted Rauka between 2012 and 2013 before leaving to pursue further studies in the United States. After completing her studies, she returned to Kenyan screens in 2019, joining Switch TV Kenya, where she hosted the lifestyle and talk show Full Circle with Joyce.
Over the years, she has built a strong reputation not only as a television presenter but also as a celebrated gospel musician. Known for her soulful voice and scripture-based music, some of her popular songs include Conqueror, Kweli, and Naamini, which have resonated widely with audiences both locally and internationally.
During her farewell, Omondi reflected on her journey, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve and connect with viewers through the platform.
“I will be transitioning into a new season and a new chapter in my life,” she said, hinting at future plans while stopping short of revealing her next professional move.
Her announcement has since sparked emotional reactions from fans, many of whom took to social media to express both appreciation and disappointment at her exit.
“The first time you broke my heart was when you left after your internship. Now you’re doing it again. I’m going to miss you on the show, but I wish you all the best,” one fan wrote, capturing the sentiments of many loyal viewers.
The emotional farewell was further marked by a surprise appearance from her husband, Waihiga Mwaura, a respected journalist currently working with the BBC and a former anchor at Citizen TV. He was joined by members of Omondi’s family, who presented her with flowers and messages of encouragement during her final show.

Industry observers note that Omondi’s departure comes at a time when media personalities are increasingly diversifying their careers, with many transitioning into entrepreneurship, ministry, or digital content creation.
As Rauka prepares for a new chapter without one of its most recognisable faces, viewers are left reflecting on Omondi’s legacy—one defined by authenticity, faith, and a deep connection with her audience.
