“A conservatory order is hereby issued by refraining respondents from apprehending and charging the petitioners based on the investigations undertaken in this matter until September 18, 2025,” Justice Mwita ruled.

The case stems from an April 15 raid on Wamatangi’s home and offices. EACC officers stormed the premises over allegations of embezzlement and conflict of interest in county tenders.
“This is political intimidation. I won’t be silenced or distracted from running county projects,” Wamatangi said after the raid.
The officials, during questioning, dismissed the accusations. They claimed the arrests were part of a smear campaign aimed at undermining the governor’s leadership.
Legal Battle Intensifies
The court’s extension means Wamatangi can continue executing his duties while preparing his defense. However, the looming October 8 hearing could change everything.
“The matter will return to court on October 8, where judges will decide whether to lift the suspension or allow prosecution,” a court official confirmed.
