Babu Owino Drops 2027 Presidential Bombshell, Eyes Alliance With Ndindi Nyoro
Firebrand Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has shaken the political ground yet again. On Monday, April 21, during an interview on Hot 96, the outspoken lawmaker strongly hinted at a possible presidential run in 2027.
With trademark confidence, Babu declared,
“The time is now, and the time for youthful leadership is now.”
He revealed he’s been in talks with Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, discussing a possible alliance to usher in a new generation of leaders.
Possible Alliance in the Works
Both Babu and Ndindi are known for their youthful energy, vocal positions, and massive grassroots following. Babu didn’t hold back his admiration:
“Ndindi is a top performer just like me,” he said, fueling speculation of a power duo ready to take on the political elite.
Ambition on Full Display
Is Babu eyeing the presidency? He doesn’t deny it.
“There could be a presidential ambition, there could be a gubernatorial ambition, depending on how we will agree with Ndindi,” he added.
His supporters, he claims, are already pushing him to go big.
“My supporters are fighting day and night. Some are saying, ‘Babu, you have to be the president in 2027.’”
He insists the current government has failed, leaving a leadership vacuum.
“I am overqualified for this position,” Babu asserted confidently.
Confidence or Overconfidence?
Not one to mince words, Babu believes if he declares his bid, he’ll win with ease.
“If we decide to go for the presidency, early in the morning we’d have defeated our opponents,” he said.
“We wouldn’t even need to pay agents.”
Disappointment in Ruto’s Leadership
Babu expressed deep disappointment in President Ruto’s leadership.
He said he once believed Ruto could become “the best president Kenya ever had,” because of his humble roots. But, according to Babu, that hope has faded.
His Political Journey
Babu credits his political rise to his early days as a student leader at the University of Nairobi.
“I wanted to be a national leader, that’s why I was a student leader,” he said.
“Leading students meant uniting all tribes without discrimination.”
He claims his leadership inspired Embakasi East residents to elect him.

Global Inspiration
Babu draws strength from young revolutionaries.
“Look at Ibrahim Traoré, look at Fidel Castro — at 32, he was already a president. Gaddafi became president at 28. So we are late,” he said.
“Running a nation only needs a clear mental faculty.”
Can He Defeat Ruto?
At a church gathering on April 18, Babu confidently told congregants,
“I am the only politician who can defeat Ruto in 2027.”
As 2027 draws closer, Kenyans are watching closely. Could Babu truly rise to State House?
