On Saturday, April 12, President Ruto joined other leaders and mourners at the school grounds. Local MP Otiende Amollo, while addressing the crowd, made a humble yet urgent appeal.
“The school requested me to ask you… if you wanted to donate something to this school, their biggest problem is a dining hall,” Amollo said.
Without hesitation, President Ruto stood to answer the call.
“In honour of George, the MP asked we “The school requested me to ask you… if you wanted to donate something to this school, their biggest problem is a dining hall,” Amollo said.help build the school, and I am committing KSh 20 million to elevate this school,” he declared.

He then invited the MP to visit his office, where he promised to write a cheque and ensure the funds are delivered.
While the donation stirred excitement, the memory of George Oduor remained central. Ruto fondly recalled their past encounters.
“We have come here to celebrate a man of integrity, a competent security officer and a man we all celebrate,” said Ruto.
He admitted he personally benefitted from George’s protection during his ODM days. Back then, political chaos was common, and George’s presence meant safety.
“Whenever we went to situations, George was on hand,” he added.
Their friendship began in the 1990s. George had then protected the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and other FORD leaders. Over time, he earned Raila’s trust, eventually becoming his official bodyguard.
Despite facing arrests and detention — including nearly a year in Kamiti — George remained unshaken.
