CCTV Footage Shows Final Moments of 22-Year-Old Woman Before Fatal Fall from Kileleshwa Airbnb
The victim, identified as Consolata Githinji, is reported to have fallen from a balcony in the early hours of Sunday, April 26, in what authorities have described as a complex case now under active investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
According to preliminary findings, Consolata had arrived at the apartment in the company of a 33-year-old man. Surveillance footage shows the pair approaching the building’s entrance, where the woman appears to briefly gesture toward a security guard before proceeding inside without any recorded interaction.

At approximately 4:18am, the guard is seen assisting the two to access a keybox believed to contain keys to the apartment. After unlocking it, the pair gained entry and proceeded to the sixth-floor unit where the incident later occurred.
Investigators have also established that earlier activity had taken place in the same apartment. CCTV records indicate that between 5:56pm and 3:57am, two women and a man had checked into the unit, raising further questions about who had booked the space and the sequence of occupancy prior to Consolata’s arrival.
Moments before the fatal fall, footage captured at around 4:32am shows shadows moving near the apartment’s doorway, suggesting a possible disturbance inside the house. Two minutes later, at 4:34am, the security guard is seen entering the apartment under circumstances that remain unclear.
Nearly two hours later, officers from the DCI arrived at the scene and began processing the apartment, documenting the surroundings and collecting forensic evidence to support the ongoing investigation.
In a statement recorded by police, the man who had accompanied the deceased claimed he encountered her standing on a window moments before the fall.
“When I got there, she was standing on the bedroom window. By the time I reacted, she jumped, I could not save the situation,” he reportedly told investigators.
Further complicating the investigation, police have established that the apartment was not booked directly by the man in question, raising concerns about the identity of the individual who made the reservation and the circumstances under which the premises were accessed.

While the exact cause of Consolata’s death remains undetermined, investigators have indicated that all possibilities are being considered, including accidental fall, suicide, or foul play.
“We are analysing all available evidence, including CCTV footage, forensic samples, and witness accounts, to establish the exact sequence of events,” a source familiar with the investigation stated.
As the probe continues, authorities have urged members of the public with any relevant information to come forward and assist in uncovering the truth behind the incident.
The case remains open, with police expected to release further updates once critical aspects of the investigation are concluded.
