A single photo has reignited public debate over Raila Odinga’s health and whereabouts. The ODM party leader, who recently left the country, was reportedly spotted at King’s College Hospital in Dubai—one of the world’s most elite medical facilities.
“He’s on a Medical Holiday”—ODM Clarifies Raila’s Trip
On Sunday, ODM’s secretariat confirmed Raila had travelled abroad but denied claims he went to Europe for treatment.
“He definitely did not travel to Europe as reported by bloggers,” the statement read. “He is not indisposed, as prayed for by his frustrated opponents,” it added.
Despite the denial, a photo showing Raila smiling beside Awendo MP Walter Owino sparked fresh speculation.
“That’s King’s College Hospital”—Kenyans Spot Clues in Photo
Keen-eyed Kenyans quickly identified the hospital’s interior from the background of the image. Raila appeared to be watching a game at King’s College Hospital in Dubai.
Whether he was there for treatment remains unclear. However, the facility’s reputation has intensified curiosity.
“World-Class Care”—Inside King’s College Hospital Dubai
King’s College Hospital, originally based in London, has branches in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Jeddah. It offers top-tier services using advanced technology and elite specialists.

“We provide orthopaedics, spine surgery, and sports medicine,” the hospital’s website states. “Our cardiology unit treats a wide range of heart conditions,” it adds.
The hospital also offers paediatric care, gastroenterology, plastic surgery, dermatology, and neurological services.
“It’s Not Cheap”—Executive Health Checks Raise Eyebrows
Consultation fees range from Ksh74,000 to Ksh120,000 per visit. Executive health checks for men over 40 cost Ksh130,000, while women pay up to Ksh148,000. Patients over 60 may pay Ksh204,000 for full physicals.
“This is elite care. Not everyone can afford it,” said a Nairobi-based doctor.
The pricing has fueled more questions about the nature of Raila’s visit.
“Let Him Appear Publicly”—Gachagua Demands Transparency
Rigathi Gachagua, a vocal critic, urged Raila to make a public appearance to end speculation.
“If a leader is well, he should show up,” Gachagua said. “My prayer is that God gives Raila long life and good health,” he added.
He also cheekily hoped Raila would support Ruto so they could “defeat both of them in 2027.”

As speculation grows, Kenyans await clarity from Raila himself.
