Uhuru Kenyatta Summons Jubilee Delegates for Crucial September 26 Conference

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has called for a high-stakes National Delegates Conference (NDC) to reshape the future of the Jubilee Party. The meeting, scheduled for September 26, 2025, will take place at the Jockey Club, Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi, starting at 8 a.m.

In a notice dated September 3, Uhuru emphasized the urgency of the gathering.

“Further to our notice of a Special National Delegates Convention dated August 5, 2025… a notice is hereby issued for a Special National Delegates Convention to be held at the Jockey Club, Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi, Kenya, on September 26, 2025,” the statement read.

NEC Report and Party Constitution Top the Agenda

According to Uhuru, the conference will focus on several key issues. First, delegates will receive a status report from the National Executive Committee (NEC). Then, they will review and approve the party’s constitution, organs, policies, and programmes.

Additionally, the meeting will address other matters deemed vital to Jubilee’s future.

“This sitting will help us realign the party under our ‘Mbele Pamoja’ agenda,” Uhuru stated.

Leadership Reinstated After Court Battle

This announcement follows a major legal victory for Uhuru’s faction. Just weeks ago, a High Court ruling reinstated his leadership team. Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni and Vice-Chair David Murathe returned to their roles after months of internal wrangling.

The ruling ended a bitter standoff with a rival faction led by Kanini Kega and Sabina Chege. Uhuru later chaired a virtual NEC meeting, marking his official return to party leadership.

Jubilee Eyes Political Relevance Ahead of 2027

With the 2027 general election approaching, Jubilee aims to reposition itself. The September 26 conference could redefine its alliances and political strategy.

Insiders suggest the party may seek partnerships with like-minded groups. These moves could strengthen Jubilee’s influence in national politics.

“We must prepare for the future. This conference is about unity, clarity, and purpose,” a party insider revealed.

All Eyes on Ngong Racecourse

Political observers expect the NDC to attract widespread attention. Many believe it will signal Jubilee’s next chapter and determine its role in shaping Kenya’s political landscape
