Farouk Kibet Threatens to Strip Uhuru of Retirement Perks Over ‘Inciteful Politics’

President William Ruto’s fierce aide, Farouk Kibet, has unleashed a scathing attack on former President Uhuru Kenyatta. Farouk, speaking passionately in Vihiga, accused Uhuru of stirring divisive politics despite his retirement.

Calls to Strip Retirement Benefits

In a fiery address, Farouk did not hold back. He urged Parliament to act swiftly and clip Uhuru’s wings by withdrawing his retirement benefits.

“I want to ask the former president, what did he leave at the State House? Is there anything he left?” Farouk fired.

He went further, accusing Uhuru of inciting political tensions.

“I want to tell him to stop inciting politics. We are now telling Ichung’wah, the Majority Leader, to table a motion that whenever a political leader retires, his benefits should go to the people,” Farouk demanded.

Uhuru’s Political Involvement Sparks Fury

Although Uhuru stepped down in 2022 after a decade in power, he has remained subtly vocal on key issues. His remarks, even when measured, have stirred waves within the Kenya Kwanza camp.

Notably, Uhuru has kept a neutral tone publicly but hasn’t shied away from sharing his views. In January, for instance, Uhuru shocked many when he supported the United States’ decision to cut donor funding, challenging developing nations to find self-sustaining solutions.

That same month, he struck another nerve. Speaking to student leaders at Makerere University in Kampala, he boldly urged Gen Zs to rise and hold governments accountable.

Kenya Kwanza Allies Push Back

Since then, Kenya Kwanza allies have bombarded Uhuru with criticism. Farouk Kibet has been the loudest, but he is not alone. Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale also recently weighed in.

Duale, while addressing a public gathering, reminded Uhuru of his time in power.

“We gave you space to rule for ten years when you were the President. We did not incite you but gave you the chance to be President. Please follow the example of your predecessors and give President William Ruto a chance to rule,” Duale urged.

Farouk’s fresh threat has now ignited fierce debate. Many Kenyans are asking whether stripping Uhuru of his benefits would set a dangerous precedent or serve as a lesson to retired leaders who remain politically active.

As Parliament weighs its next move, all eyes remain on Majority Leader Ichung’wah and how this political drama unfolds.
