Wiper Youth Give Kalonzo Musyoka 15 Days to Replace Party SG: “She Has No Charisma”
NAIROBI, Kenya — As the political heat rises ahead of the 2027 General Election, pressure is mounting on Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka. This time, it’s not from rival coalitions—but from within his own party.
Urgent Call for Change
On Friday, April 11, Wiper Youth Wing Secretary General Felix Mambo made a bold move. He publicly demanded that Kalonzo replace the current party Secretary General, Shakila Abdullah, within 15 days.
“It’s not only a concern among the youth. Many party members and leaders have reservations about the leadership of our secretary general,” Mambo declared during a press briefing.
His message was clear: Wiper cannot compete on the national stage with uninspiring leadership at its core.
Why the Youth Are Speaking Out
Mambo, who described Kalonzo as his “political father and mentor,” insisted that the SG’s office plays a vital role in any political party.
“The secretary general is the central nervous system of a political outfit,” he said. “If that system fails, the entire party suffers.”

“Few people know our secretary general. While others are boosting their party images, ours lacks the charisma and visibility needed to drive us forward,” he emphasized.
Falling Behind in the Race to 2027
Meanwhile, ODM and UDA are moving fast. ODM is holding grassroots elections across the country. UDA is consolidating its structures with focused mobilisation. However, Wiper’s internal conflicts may derail Kalonzo’s 2027 ambitions—unless decisive action is taken now.
Kalonzo, who has already declared his bid for the presidency, risks losing momentum. Party youth argue that without change, Wiper will struggle to be taken seriously by voters and allies alike.
Countdown Begins: 15 Days or Else
The Wiper Youth Wing’s ultimatum gives Kalonzo 15 days to shake up the party’s leadership. They want a visible, energetic, and strategic secretary general—someone who can stand toe-to-toe with the likes of ODM’s Edwin Sifuna or UDA’s Cleophas Malala.
Whether Kalonzo heeds their call remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: The youth are no longer silent, and the clock is ticking.
