Who Staged the Limuru Drama? Rift MPs Point Fingers at Gachagua
Nandi, Kenya – Tensions within Kenya Kwanza have escalated as President William Ruto’s allies accuse Rigathi Gachagua of orchestrating chaos. The leaders allege that Gachagua staged disruptions at a Limuru burial to gain public sympathy.
Who Sparked the Limuru Chaos?
Speaking in Nandi on December 1, Sigor MP Peter Lochakapong directly accused Gachagua of engineering the November 28 incident. “He arranged the chaos to tarnish the government’s good image,” Lochakapong claimed. “He wanted people to think the government wants to harm him.”
Another lawmaker supported this view, claiming Gachagua often provokes chaos for personal benefit. “Whenever he attends public events, disruptions follow. It’s his way of gaining sympathy,” the MP stated.

Why Did Ichung’wah Condemn Gachagua?
Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah also criticized Gachagua for attending Erastus Nduati’s funeral in Limuru, where the chaos erupted. Ichung’wah blamed Gachagua and his allies for using the event to push divisive political agendas.
“Our role as leaders is to maintain peace, not disrupt public events,” Ichung’wah said. He urged all leaders to respect grieving families and avoid turning funerals into political battlegrounds.
What’s Next for Kenya Kwanza?
The accusations reveal a growing division within Kenya Kwanza, threatening its stability. While Gachagua remains silent, analysts warn that the coalition’s unity could crumble if the infighting persists.
Kenyans are left questioning whether these leaders will prioritize development or let internal disputes derail progress. Can the coalition survive these tensions, or is it headed for collapse?
