Chaos Erupts at Funeral Attended by Rigathi Gachagua in Limuru
Limuru, Kiambu County, turned chaotic on Thursday, November 28, during the burial of Erastus Nduati, known as Mwene Limuru. Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other dignitaries attended the solemn event, which quickly spiraled into turmoil.
The disruption began when individuals targeted the tent housing Gachagua and other leaders. As the service progressed, the group intensified their actions, shaking the tent violently. Moments before Gachagua was invited to speak, they attempted to uproot the structure. The commotion caused widespread panic, forcing mourners to flee in all directions.
Videos from the scene show the extent of the chaos. Chairs lay scattered, and mourners scrambled to safety. A black Toyota Land Cruiser, reportedly belonging to Gachagua, sustained damage, with its rear window smashed. Security personnel swiftly evacuated Gachagua and other leaders.
Tensions Rise Amid Accusations
The incident follows Gachagua’s claims that the government withdrew his security. He recently accused state officials of punishing him for opposing President William Ruto’s administration. “This is an attempt to silence me, but I will not back down,” Gachagua remarked during a past address.

Confidential sources from the Interior Ministry hinted at fears of Gachagua leading a rebellion. They reportedly believe his actions could derail development projects by inciting early political campaigns.
