He accused Lagat of acting as judge in a case where he is a suspect, insisting:
“An accuser cannot become the judge. It’s basic justice.”
Ojwang’s Arrest Linked Directly to Lagat
Earlier, IG Kanja confirmed that Ojwang died while in police custody, after DIG Lagat lodged a formal defamation complaint.
The deceased had allegedly published posts accusing Lagat of corruption within the NPS. The account had over 13,000 followers.
Kanja revealed:
“The DIG had filed a complaint about false information published against him. That’s what led to Ojwang’s arrest.”
