Simba Arati Backs Sifuna on Not Supporting Ruto in 2027, Announces Crisis Meeting
He warned ODM members against attacking Sifuna, emphasizing that he is the party’s official spokesperson.
“The politics of the country, because I’ve seen many attacks on the Secretary General of ODM, Senator Sifuna. All of you know that Senator Sifuna is the Secretary General of ODM, he’s the official spokesperson of the party. I want to call upon all those other people outside there who are making noise to leave Senator Sifuna alone. He speaks the mind of the party,” Arati stated.
ODM Rebels Face Stern Warning
Arati took aim at ODM politicians aligning with President William Ruto’s government. He accused them of betraying the party and seeking personal gain.
“I know that those ones who believe that Baba is going to AU, now they want to misbehave. They want to become sellouts, tumbocrats. Relax, guys. We are in charge. The party is strong,” Arati said, sending a clear warning to party rebels.
Is ODM in Government?
Arati dismissed claims that ODM is in government but admitted the party has provided experts to assist in governance.
“I want to repeat, we are not in government. We have only sent people we call experts to government to help to establish or to make sure the government of William Ruto delivers. Any other good citizen would want the government of the day to deliver. And exactly, we are those responsible citizens who want to see our country moving forward,” he clarified.
Crisis Meeting to Address ODM’s Future
To counter rising divisions, Arati announced an urgent ODM crisis meeting. He said the meeting would clarify the party’s position and call members to order.

“We will give direction in the near future because we are meeting just to call people to order,” he declared.
ODM Faces Identity Crisis
As ODM struggles with internal conflicts, some Raila Odinga allies have cautioned members against abandoning party principles for government positions.
Siaya Governor James Orengo warned that prioritizing short-term gains over ODM’s long-term vision would have serious consequences.
“Any compromises made must be justifiable,” Orengo stated, urging party members to remain loyal.
