According to the EACC, the officers were apprehended while actively demanding and collecting bribes from drivers. The commission revealed that the operation was triggered by multiple complaints from road users.
“Our detectives caught the officers red-handed while extorting motorists,” the EACC stated. “This practice has become rampant and must be stopped.”

The suspects were immediately taken to the EACC Western Regional Offices in Bungoma for interrogation and further processing.
