What seemed like a power play has now turned into a nightmare for the head of state. According to political analyst and commercial pilot Iain Njiraini, Gachagua’s ouster has not weakened him. Instead, it has turned him into a louder, bolder, and more dangerous political force.
“He was thrown out,” Njiraini said. “But now he is tearing down the very system he once defended.”
“Inadvertently, he (Ruto) created not only a serious opposition but a fearless monster,” Njiraini remarked. “One who is willing to expose everything happening in government.”
This shift has shaken State House. Gachagua’s fall has only amplified his voice. Ironically, his absence from official power has granted him even more influence.
“Each and other day we are talking about Gachagua, who holds no position,” Njiraini observed. “He has become even more powerful than before.”

Now, even without office, he dominates headlines. His political base—especially in Mt. Kenya—remains loyal. Disillusioned voters, frustrated leaders, and former allies are rallying behind him.
Njiraini noted that Gachagua is not the only one rising. Another defiant figure is emerging.
“This is being substantiated by another CS who was thrown out, JB Muturi, who also seems to be fearless,” Njiraini said.
Mounting Pressure on State House
These developments are causing visible cracks in the ruling coalition. With insiders turning into critics, Ruto’s administration now faces a storm from within.
“I wonder what will happen to them,” Njiraini said. “All heads are turning to the president to see what response they will give.”
