“Own a Car for Less!” NTSA Unveils Huge Auction of Vehicles and Office Items
Kenyans now have a rare chance to buy cars and office equipment at a fraction of the cost.
This follows the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) announcement of a massive public auction.
The auction covers 10 government vehicles, vehicle parts, and office furniture, and will run between June 4 and June 13, 2025.
“The items will be auctioned strictly on an as-is, where-is basis,” NTSA said in a public notice on Monday, May 19.
Vehicles Up for Grabs
Interestingly, most of the units are Toyota vehicles, including pickup trucks and station wagons.
Out of the 10 vehicles, nine are Toyotas. This alone has sparked excitement among budget car hunters.
The vehicles are located in various NTSA offices across counties, from Nyahururu to Nakuru.
View Before You Bid
Importantly, NTSA has allowed interested buyers to inspect the vehicles on weekdays during working hours.
“You have until June 3, 2025, to view the vehicles,” the authority announced.
This move is aimed at ensuring transparency and informed bidding.

Want to Join the Auction?
To participate, you must first buy an official catalogue. It costs Ksh500 and is available at:
- Kenya Post Bank Pension Towers, Chambers Road
- 3rd Floor, Suite No. 17
Payment Process Explained
If you win, you must pay 10% of the price immediately. You then have 14 days to clear the rest.
“Failure to complete payment within 14 days will lead to forfeiture,” warned NTSA.
Moreover, all payments will go through e-Citizen, under the supervision of an NTSA accountant present on-site.
Collect Quickly or Pay More
Once payment is complete, you have 14 days to collect your items. If not, you’ll be charged Ksh1,000 daily for storage.
For those who lose the bid? Refunds will be processed within seven days.

Why the Auction Matters
This exercise helps NTSA dispose of unserviceable assets. It also offers the public a chance to buy valuable items affordably.
“We follow the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015, to ensure fairness,” NTSA stated.
