The Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) strongly condemned the alleged attack. Officials called for immediate legal action against the principal, warning that teachers would strike if justice was not served.
“This is unacceptable. We demand swift action against the principal. No teacher should suffer violence in the workplace,” KUPPET representatives stated.
They urged authorities to investigate the incident and take appropriate measures to ensure teachers’ safety.
Growing Concerns Over Teacher Safety
This incident is not isolated. Cases of violence against educators have been rising, raising serious concerns about safety in learning institutions.
Teachers and education stakeholders are now calling on the Ministry of Education to take a firm stand against violence in schools. Many believe that a culture of impunity has emboldened individuals to attack educators without fear of consequences.
“Teaching should be a respected profession. No teacher should fear being assaulted at work,” a KUPPET official emphasized.
