Mutahi Kagwe Urges Unity Among Leaders Opposing Ruto’s Government: “Heal”

Nairobi—Newly appointed Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has issued a heartfelt plea to leaders opposing President William Ruto’s administration. Kagwe called for unity, urging them to set aside their differences and prioritize rebuilding Kenya.

Kagwe’s Call for Unity

In a statement posted on Saturday, January 18, Kagwe emphasized the need for collaboration. He urged critics of the government to embrace healing and work together for the nation’s betterment.

“I urge all of us to put our differences aside, come together to work, heal, and rebuild our nation. This is what true leadership is about. This is to a New Era, a New Dawn,” Kagwe said.

Gratitude and Commitment

Kagwe expressed deep gratitude to President Ruto for appointing him to the critical role of Agriculture Cabinet Secretary. He reaffirmed his dedication to serving Kenyans with integrity and diligence.

“I sincerely thank H.E. President William Ruto for appointing me as the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development,” Kagwe stated. “Agriculture is the backbone of our livelihoods and economy. I humbly take office, aware of the challenges ahead. These challenges are also opportunities. I will always serve with diligence, integrity, and in observance of the constitution for the best interests of Kenyans.”

Kagwe’s remarks reflect his awareness of the sector’s issues and his optimism about turning challenges into opportunities.

Swearing-In Ceremony and Leadership Shifts

Kagwe’s swearing-in took place at State House Nairobi on Friday, January 17. The ceremony, presided over by President Ruto, also saw the swearing-in of other prominent leaders.

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo replaced Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u as Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and Digital Technology. Additionally, former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui succeeded Salim Mvurya as Trade Cabinet Secretary.

President Ruto referred to the three leaders as “friends” and expressed confidence in their ability to serve diligently.

Opportunities in Agriculture

Kagwe acknowledged the agricultural sector’s critical role in Kenya’s economy. He promised to address pressing issues like food insecurity and create sustainable solutions for farmers. His focus on innovation and constitutional adherence signals a transformative approach.

A Vision for Kenya’s Future

Mutahi Kagwe’s call to action underscores the need for unity and shared responsibility among leaders. As he steps into his role, his vision for a stronger, more collaborative Kenya inspires hope for a brighter future.
