Lugari in Mourning: Alupe University Student Fatally Stabbed by Boyfriend in Guest House Tragedy
Grief has engulfed Nambilima village in Lugari Constituency after a brutal murder shattered the peace of a quiet Tuesday evening. Faith Kiliswa Namakwangwachi, a fourth-year student at Alupe University, was stabbed to death by her boyfriend in a suspected love triangle gone wrong.
A Promising Life Cut Short
Faith checked into Mbande Guest House in Matete with her boyfriend, Dubicuss Wafula, on September 16. Hours later, she was found dead—stabbed multiple times after an intimate encounter.

“Faith, a bright Fourth-year student at Alupe University, was robbed of her future in the most brutal way,” said Lugari MP Nabwera.
The young woman had just buried her mother three weeks earlier. Her death has left the community reeling, with many struggling to comprehend the senseless act.
Swift Arrest After Coordinated Effort
After committing the crime, Wafula fled the scene. However, police tracked him down in Muhoroni as he attempted to escape to Nairobi.
“I commend the family for reaching out in good time, which made it possible to respond swiftly and arrest the perpetrator,” Nabwera wrote on Facebook.
He praised the DCIO Matete and his team for their commitment, and also recognized his staff member Carol Kinara for her role in the operation.
“Such collective effort reflects the power of unity in moments of crisis,” he added.
Community in Shock, Demands Justice
Faith’s death has sparked outrage and sorrow across Lugari. Residents are demanding justice and calling for better protection of young women.
“This tragedy has left a deep wound in the hearts of many,” Nabwera stated.
Faith was known for her academic brilliance and warm personality. Her dreams of graduation and a brighter future were cruelly stolen.
Another Tragedy in Kiambu
“The couple had just moved in together. They were found dead inside their home around 5pm,” reported Simon Mwangi Muthiora.
Preliminary investigations suggest Jose may have stabbed Gathoni before dying moments later. The community remains stunned by the double tragedy.

A Nation in Mourning
As families bury their loved ones, Kenyans are left grappling with rising cases of intimate partner violence. The pain is raw, the questions are many, and the need for justice is urgent.
