Narok Adventist School Closed Indefinitely After Grade Nine Student Found Murdered
Shock and fear engulfed Narok after a 14-year-old Grade Nine student was found murdered inside Narok Adventist Primary and Junior Secondary School.
The boy’s body was discovered in the dormitory over the weekend under disturbing circumstances. Witnesses reported blood on the ground and in a nearby washroom. His body bore visible injuries, signaling a struggle before death.
School Shut Down Immediately
Narok County Education Director Apollo Apuko confirmed that the school was ordered closed without delay.
“The school has been closed indefinitely to allow investigations. We ask parents to remain calm as authorities determine the cause and motive,” Apuko stated.
The body was moved to Narok County Referral Hospital mortuary for post-mortem. Police launched urgent investigations as grief and anger spread among parents and students.

Parents in Anguish
On Monday morning, furious and heartbroken parents stormed the school compound. Many accused the administration of hiding details and delaying communication.
“If the government and school officials cannot protect our children, then we will personally guard schools across the country,” one parent shouted.
The parents demanded justice, insisting that tighter security must be enforced in schools nationwide.
Local Leaders Speak Out
“This school is in my neighbourhood, and we are still in utter shock over what has happened,” Gatua said.
“We did not hear any signs of struggle or noise that night. It’s frightening to imagine that a student could be slaughtered like this.”
Gatua further revealed that early assessments suggest the murder likely occurred in the early morning hours, though the motive remains unclear.
He stressed that such brutality was unprecedented in the county, warning that urgent measures were needed to restore trust in school safety.
Community Demands Justice

As investigations intensify, authorities face mounting pressure to find those behind the killing and to ensure similar tragedies never happen again.
